TTC becomes a partner of the student project FIRSTLIFE

FIRSTLIFE is a CTU competition project for the international competition Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22, the aim of which is to develop new accommodation capacities by expanding existing dormitory buildings. These were mostly built at the end of the 20th century. Many of them need refurbishing, especially reducing energy consumption and improving comfort – all with an emphasis on sustainability. The team of students is now specifically working on a two-storey superstructure of Větrník dormitories in Prague 6. The proposed solution can also be used in general for superstructures in cities, such as start-up housing, etc.

In partnership with FIRSTLIFE, we see the benefits mainly because:

  • At TTC, we have long been dealing with the solution of systems for energy and, more recently, especially for smart energy, which blends very well with the project.
  • Our two companies, ANETE and ApS Brno, supply IT systems for the management and administration of dormitories and canteens, and we would like to implement the knowledge from this concept into these systems.
  • We are preparing a project of a large technology center in Malešice, Prague, which should also include modern community housing for students and beginning workers, which also corresponds with FIRSTLIFE.

The partnership will therefore allow us to apply the knowledge gained in the project directly to our solutions and implementations. At the same time, it is an interesting and unique activity that is currently unparalleled at universities in the Czech Republic.
